Auditions
Lyric Singers 2026: Oh Canada! Celebrating Five Decades of Canadian Music.
This year's production will showcase music from some of Canada's most celebrated artists, including Joni Mitchell, Bryan Adams, The Guess Who, Michael Bublé, k.d. lang, and many more. The show will feature a mix of choral numbers, solo performances, and solos accompanied by the chorus, all backed by a live band. Performances will take place November 20 & 21, 2026. Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, September 2 and will generally be held weekly on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.
AUDITION INFORMATION
Open auditions are required for anyone who is new to Lyric Singers or who did not perform with us last year.

Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Location: Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue
No pre-booked audition time is required. Simply arrive at any point during the audition window. We look forward to meeting you!
What to Prepare
Please prepare one verse of a song written by a Canadian songwriter or composer that best showcases your voice.
Some examples include:

Lovers in a Dangerous Time – Bruce Cockburn

These are only suggestions. There are many wonderful Canadian songs to choose from!
Please bring a printed copy of your sheet music for our accompanist. If needed, sheet music is available in a variety of keys through websites such as Musicnotes.com. Please note that pre-recorded accompaniment tracks cannot be used during auditions. You will also be asked to complete a brief vocal range check.
